Cambium Studio is a Brooklyn-based design and build firm specializing in high-quality, sustainably-designed, furniture and architectural millwork. We work with our clients to best achieve function and beauty, all while adhering to their budget and schedule. The firm was founded by Mark Righter in 2004.

Owner/Founder

Prior to his emergence as a furniture designer, Righter was trained as a Biologist/Environmental Scientist at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

He worked for the Department of Forestry researching trees and plants and later for the Smithsonian Institute studying red-howler monkeys and endangered crocodiles in Venezuela.

Driven by his love of art, building and design he returned to NYC and apprenticed with a master cabinet maker in DUMBO, while also studying art, drawing and architecture at Cooper Union, Columbia, and Parsons. Today he meshes all of those interests by designing and building sustainably designed furniture.

Mark Righter is a part-time faculty member at Parsons School of Design in NYC.
